a worm, an island, a portal
A turn-based grid puzzle in the spirit of Apple Worm. Every level is an island floating in open space. Eat the stars to grow long enough to reach the portal — and think before every single move, because there is no timer and no luck involved.
WormGame is a small, quiet puzzle game for phones, tablets and desktops. You move a worm one cell at a time across a hand-built island. Gravity acts after every move, the worm cannot jump, and the only way out is the portal at the other end. Fifteen levels ship with the game, more arrive from the author over time, and anyone can build their own in the built-in editor.
No timers, no reflexes, no failure you did not choose. Restart costs nothing and is always one tap away.
Swipe the board or use the on-screen pad; arrows and WASD on a keyboard. Nothing to turn on — the game shows the controls that match how you are playing.
Everything is on the device. A network connection only brings new levels; without one, the game simply plays the levels already installed.
No advertising, no analytics, no third-party trackers, no sign-up, no purchases.
Paint your own island — walls, stars, crumbling blocks, crates, spikes, the portal and the worm — on grids from 4×2 up to 64×40.
Download a catalogue of levels made by other players, all reviewed by a human before anyone sees them.
Each level carries a par: the shortest line its author walked. Solving a level records your best move count, and matching par earns a star.

Players can build levels in the editor and share them. A level can only be submitted once its author has finished it themselves: the game records the exact line played and sends it along, and the server replays that line through the game's own rules engine to establish the level can actually be completed. The length of that line becomes the level's par.
The game collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no third-party SDKs and no cookies. It never asks for your name, e-mail or location. Progress and the levels you build stay on the device; a server is involved only to download level packs and — if you choose to publish a level — to receive that level and the moves you played to finish it, under a random token that is not linked to you. Anything published can be deleted from inside the game, at once and for good.
